BriggsAmasco is in line for a highly-prized industry award in recognition of its work on a major city development.
The Construction News Specialists Awards pay annual homage to the UK’s best specialist contractors. It attracts entrants nationwide and features a range of categories. Having run the rule over the initial wave of entries, judges have shortlisted BriggsAmasco in the Project of the Year by a Specialist Contractor (subcontract between £2m and £6m) category. It’s in relation to the company’s delivery of a multiple-roof system as part of the multimillion pound redevelopment of the Battersea Power Station site in south-west London.
BriggsAmasco supplied six green roofs and two lower-level roofs comprising limestone paving for 12 high-rise residential blocks to the west of the derelict 39-acre site that is being transformed into a thriving mini-city, replete with retail stores, restaurants and bars, a six-acre park, a community theatre, and residential apartments.
Speaking of the company’s nomination for the 2018 awards, Dave Maginnis, Managing Director at BriggsAmasco, said: “This is wonderful news. We’re particularly proud of the work we carried out at Battersea Power Station, so to have received recognition from judges at this early stage is fantastic for all concerned.”
Having been shortlisted, the next stage of the competition requires BriggsAmasco representatives to present their entry before a panel of judges. This takes place in February at the Construction News offices in London. The winners will be announced at an awards evening being held on Thursday, March 8th at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
