We currently have the following positions available:

Senior Estimator – Birmingham

Job Ref: BA22-07

Role: Senior Estimator
Location: Birmingham/Hybrid
Package: Competitive Salary & Pension

Must have extensive knowledge of roofing estimation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure quotations are issued accurately and on time for all branches
  2. To manage, guide and assist subordinates
  3. Raise queries with information received with the relevant parties effectively and efficiently
  4. Make sure all offers comply with Health & Safety Regulations
  5. To ensure all specifications submitted are compatible with the works required
  6. Provide contract documentation to our branches upon receipt of order and to make sure all necessary credit checks have been completed prior to this
  7. Assist relevant contracts staff with “project programmes” when needed
  8. Attend sites as and when required in order to take measurements or training etc.
  9. Produce re-measure spreadsheets based on dimensions obtained from site
  10. Prepare Tenders/offers in accordance with all our procedures as set out on Estimating
    information sheets and by required return date.
  11. To prepare tenders/offers from architects drawings and/or site visits and detailed specifications provided by client.
  12. To estimate the type and amount of materials necessary to deliver the contract against the
    agreed specifications.
  13. To estimate the cost of plant, equipment and overheads
  14. To estimate the cost of access, hoisting and protection with due regard to Health & Safety risks.
  15. To establish the likely progress and completion rates, including allowances for bad weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
  16. To liaise with Contracts Manager/Supervisor, by handover meeting, on receipt of order, to communicate pricing information of the tender.
  17. To maintain good communications with our suppliers to make sure all our material requests are met on time and to provide forecasts so as no unexpected delays occur.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

  • Must have extensive experience as Roofing Estimator
  • Sites measures and drawing take offs
  • Specifications and technical knowledge
  • Product knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation
  • Contractual awareness i.e. CDM
  • Estimating Experience
  • Computer Estimating Programme experience

Estimator – Chessington

Job Ref: BA20-65

Role: Estimator
Location: Chessington
Package: Competitive Salary + Company Car & Pension

Purpose:

  • To calculate and prepare tender submissions, working out what a contract will cost to deliver, whilst ensuring it returns the required profit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure you maintain or improve upon the Company’s historic quote to order conversion ratio.
  2. Prepare tenders/offers in accordance with all of our procedures as set out on Estimating Information Sheets and by required return date.
  3. To prepare tenders/offers from architects drawings and/or site visits and detailed specifications provided by the client.
  4. To estimate the type and amount of materials necessary to deliver the contract against the agreed specifications and to offer any value engineering options available.
  5. To estimate the cost of plant, equipment and overheads.
  6. To estimate the cost of access, hoisting and protection with due regard to Health & Safety risks
  7. To establish the likely progress an completion rates, including allowances for bad weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
  8. To attend any pre-order meetings arranged by Main Contractors to assist in submission of Tenders/Offers.
  9. To calculate a final figure for the estimated cost, supplemented by adjustments for overheads and profit and presenting a tender price.
  10. To liaise with Contracts Manager/Supervisor, by handover meeting, on receipt of order, to communicate pricing information of the tender.
  11. Transfer quote and order information to Britain.
  12. Prepare and submit information for O & M Manuals.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

  • Adaptability/ Business Awareness/ Detail Handling/ Initiative/Planning and Organising/Roofing Industry/Plant/Safety and Communication.
  • Experience of Flat Roofing Estimation is essential.
  • General computer awareness.
