Construction Manager – Manchester

Job Ref: BA24-15

Title: Construction Manager
Location: Manchester
Hours: 39 hours per week
Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Pension

Essential requirements:

Must have Black CSCS Card/NVQ 6, SMST & VAst Roofing experience.

PURPOSE:

To organise and manage contracts to ensure quality, safety, programme and gross objectives are achieved.

SUBORDINATES:

Contract Staff

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To organise, control and manage contracts department.
To monitor all contracts in conjunction with subordinates.
To run large contracts.
To programme works to suit agreed programme.
To ensure that material deliveries meet programme requirements.
To prepare/approve subordinates, risk assessments, method statements, quality plans etc.
To ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with Company requirements.
Record variations and advise surveyor.
Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings and specification.
Record compliance with Part L details as applicable.
Liaise with Company employed subcontractors to ensure work meets our requirements.
Maintain a good working relationship with both our operatives and the Main Contractor/Client.
To organise plant, craneage etc to meet programme and cost plan.
Attend site meetings as required.

AUTHORITY LIMITS:

Costs to be agreed prior to starting contract.
Approved contractor selection in accordance with our procedures.
Approval only of subcontract labour invoices.
Approval of Time Sheets.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

Adaptability/Business Awareness / Detail Handling / Initiative / Planning & Organising / Plant / Safety/ Communication.
A knowledge of the flat roofing industry.
Experience of the building and construction industry is essential
CSCS Black Card
General computer awareness

Supervisor – North West

Job Ref: BA24-12

Title: Supervisor
Location: North of England (predominantly North West)
Hours: 40 per week
Salary: Competitive Rates + Car Allowance + Pension (dependant on experience)

Supervisor experience essential minimum of 5 years in roofing (Single ply, felt & hotmelt knowledge) Gold CSCS card minimum & SMSTS

PURPOSE:

To Supervise the On-Site Works / Site Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To organise and supervise operations/ sites as directed by the Branch Manager.
To order materials and services required to ensure program compliance.
To prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
To ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with Briggs Amasco requirements.
To prepare and ensure the Quality Plan is implemented and records kept.
To prepare the weekly wages for authorisation by the Branch Manager.
To attend all site co-ordination/safety meetings as required.
To provide a weekly site supervisor’s report.
To implement Company policy at all times.

Approval only of subcontract labour invoices.
Time Management planning in pursuit of objectives.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

A thorough knowledge of the Flat Roofing Industry.
To hold an SMSTS Qualification.
To hold a CSCS Black Card (Or be working towards).
General computer awareness.

Contracts Supervisor – Glasgow

Title: Contracts Supervisor
Location: Glasgow
Hours: 40 per week
Competitive Salary + Pension

PURPOSE:

TO ORGANISE AND SUPERVISE CONTRACTS TO ENSURE QUALITY, SAFETY, PROGRAMME AND GROSS OBJECTIVES ARE ACHIEVED.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To efficiently Supervise and Organise multiple Contracts
To organise and control directly employed and sub-contract labour.
To pre-approve Time Sheets and sub-contract labour invoices.
To programme works to suit agreed programme and monitor progress.
To ensure that material deliveries meet programme requirements.
To prepare risk assessments, method statements, quality plans etc.
To ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with Company requirements.
Record variations and advise surveyor.
Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings and specification.
Liaise with Company employed subcontractors and ensure work meets our requirements.
Maintain a good working relationship with both our operatives and the Main Contractor/Client.
To organise plant, craneage etc to meet programme and cost plan.
Attend site meetings as required.
Maintain Health and Safety on site.
Attend Company Safety Meetings/Training.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

Adaptability/Business, Awareness/Detail, Handling/Initiative/Planning and Organising Plant/Safety/Communication.
Working Knowledge of the flat roof industry.
Experience of the building and construction industry would be beneficial/essential
Read drawings and take measurements.
General computer awareness.
