At the high level refurbishment, BriggsAmasco was appointed to install a new flat roof on the school’s main building. Providing the full contract specification in-house – including selection and installation of PIR insulation, vapour control layer and waterproofing membrane – the UK’s leading waterproofing and roofing specialist delivered the project on time and on budget.

With timescales and minimal disruption key to the project success, BriggsAmasco specified a Sarnafil roofing system – renowned for high quality and long term performance. As part of the renovation, eight new sunpipes were also installed to improve the academy’s natural lighting – for which the simple application of the Sarnafil system once again met the challenge perfectly.

By specifying 1,600m2 of the multi-layer, hot air weldable Sarnafil G410-EL, the company eliminated the need for hot works on the rooftop so the application could be completed safely and more efficiently. BriggsAmasco completed all the rooftop work without any disruption, allowing the teachers and students below to carry on with day to day activities.

An additional 1,600m2 of Sarnavap 5000E VCL vapour control layer was cold applied to the substrate, before a layer of 120mm thick PIR insulation was installed by BriggsAmasco’s highly-skilled team. With no compromise on quality, the company provided a new roof that offers outstanding thermal performance and a stunning new aesthetic.

Despite the size of the roof and the challenging deadline, the new roofing system was delivered to an exceptional standard, ensuring a fully bonded totally waterproof system that will serve the building for many years to come. High-performance materials, outstanding workmanship and the expertise demonstrated by BriggsAmasco ensured that the new roof met and exceeded the client’s demands.
