Quantity Surveyor – London (Romford)

Job Ref: BA24-14

Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: London (Romford)
Hours: 8-5 Mon to Fri (40 hours per week)
Salary: Competitive + Pension

Essential requirements:

Must have 2 years on the job experience. Degree/College graduate preferred but not essential. CSCS card holder ideally as they will need this to attend site visits.

PURPOSE:

  • Producing detailed valuations and final accounts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare monthly valuations and agree final accounts.
  2. Price variations and advise clients.
  3. Carry out internal month end procedures.
  4. Chase up all outstanding cash balances,
  5. Sales ledger.
  6. Procure all materials required for contracts.
  7. Liaise with suppliers/transport departments of supply chain.
  8. Liaise with site operatives to ensure site requirements are adhered to.
  9. Maintain good working relationships with operatives and clients.
  10. Implement company policies at all times.

AUTHORITY LIMITS:

  1. Costs to be agreed prior to starting contract.
  2. Approve contractor selection in accordance with company procedures.
  3. Approval only of sub-contractor invoices.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

  • Surveying and Contracting and Contract Law relating to the construction industry.
  • Adaptability/ Business Awareness/ Detail Handling/ Initiative/ Planning and Organising/ Plant/
    Safety/ Communication
  • Experience of the building and construction Industry preferred.
  • Good time management skills.
  • General computer awareness

Contracts Manager – Hyflex London

Job Ref: BA24-13

Title: Supervisor
Location: Hyflex London
Hours: 40 per week
Salary: Competitive Salary/Pension

PURPOSE:

  • To organise and manage contracts to ensure quality, safety, programme and gross objectives are achieved

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To organise and control directly employed and sub-contract labour.
  2. To efficiently manage multiple Contracts
  3. To prepare timesheets and approve sub-contract labour invoices.
  4. To programme works to suit agreed timings.
  5. Maintain health and Safety standards on sites, ensuring that work is carried out in strict accordance with Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  6. Assess tasks, to produce, amend or add to Method Statements and Risk Assessments as required.
  7. To ensure Safe Starts/Finishes, Hot Works Permits and Gas Torch Permits are being carried out daily as required on all projects.
  8. To ensure plant, craneage, materials, labour and sub-contractors are organised and ordered to meet programme requirements.
  9. Check quality, ensuring that work conforms to specification and drawings.
  10. To record variations and advise QS.
  11. To monitor project costs against estimated/projected budget.
  12. To monitor materials on site, organising procurement and call-offs with Office.
  13. To co-ordinate deliveries with Main Contractors on-site systems.
  14. To attend meetings with the Main Contractor as required.
  15. To keep paperwork records for Quality Assurance.
  16. To check and record labour outputs against timesheets.
  17. Supervise sub-contract labour to ensure work meets our requirements.
  18. Attend Company safety meetings and training.
  19. To give weekly Toolbox Talks to labour and sub-contractors

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

  • Adaptability/Business Awareness/Detail Handling/Initiative/Planning and Organising/Flat Roofing industry/plant/safety/communication.
  • CSCS Black card holder.
  • Experience of the building and construction industry is essential.
  • General computer awareness.
  • SMSTS.
  • NVQ to appropriate level.
  • First Aid or willing to undertake First Aid Course

Supervisor – North West

Job Ref: BA24-12

Title: Supervisor
Location: North of England (predominantly North West)
Hours: 40 per week
Salary: Competitive Rates + Car Allowance + Pension (dependant on experience)

Supervisor experience essential minimum of 5 years in roofing (Single ply, felt & hotmelt knowledge) Gold CSCS card minimum & SMSTS

PURPOSE:

  • To Supervise the On-Site Works / Site Management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To organise and supervise operations/ sites as directed by the Branch Manager.
  2. To order materials and services required to ensure program compliance.
  3. To prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  4. To ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with Briggs Amasco requirements.
  5. To prepare and ensure the Quality Plan is implemented and records kept.
  6. To prepare the weekly wages for authorisation by the Branch Manager.
  7. To attend all site co-ordination/safety meetings as required.
  8. To provide a weekly site supervisor’s report.
  9. To implement Company policy at all times.

  4. Time Management planning in pursuit of objectives.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

  • A thorough knowledge of the Flat Roofing Industry.
  • To hold an SMSTS Qualification.
  • To hold a CSCS Black Card (Or be working towards).
  • General computer awareness.

PURPOSE:

  • TO ORGANISE AND SUPERVISE CONTRACTS TO ENSURE QUALITY, SAFETY, PROGRAMME AND GROSS OBJECTIVES ARE ACHIEVED.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To efficiently Supervise and Organise multiple Contracts
  2. To organise and control directly employed and sub-contract labour.
  3. To pre-approve Time Sheets and sub-contract labour invoices.
  4. To programme works to suit agreed programme and monitor progress.
  5. To ensure that material deliveries meet programme requirements.
  6. To prepare risk assessments, method statements, quality plans etc.
  7. To ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with Company requirements.
  8. Record variations and advise surveyor.
  9. Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings and specification.
  10. Liaise with Company employed subcontractors and ensure work meets our requirements.
  11. Maintain a good working relationship with both our operatives and the Main Contractor/Client.
  12. To organise plant, craneage etc to meet programme and cost plan.
  13. Attend site meetings as required.
  14. Maintain Health and Safety on site.
  15.  Attend Company Safety Meetings/Training.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

  • Adaptability/Business, Awareness/Detail, Handling/Initiative/Planning and Organising Plant/Safety/Communication.
  • Working Knowledge of the flat roof industry.
  • Experience of the building and construction industry would be beneficial/essential
  • Read drawings and take measurements.
  • General computer awareness.
  • CSCS Gold Card
  • SSSTS
