Location: Head Office Cradley Heath
Hours: Mon-Fri 9-5 (35 hours)

THE ROLE
As the Sustainability Officer you will work with the Sustainability Manager to ensure the organisation is operating in line with environmental guidelines and targets. This will include: examining corporate activities to determine where improvements can be made; ensuring compliance with environmental legislation across the organisation; helping to create and monitor environmental strategies to promote sustainable development. This wide remit means carrying out audits and assessments, identifying and resolving environmental issues, and helping to implement any necessary changes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Sustainability Officer will help to:

  1. Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development.
  2. Advise on sustainable procurement for all goods and services.
  3. Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy.
  4. Recommend the implementation of environmental policies and practices.
  5. Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up to date with UK, European Union and international regulation and legislation.
  6. Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to internal and external clients.
  7. Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce environmental risks and financial costs.
  8. Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues.
  9. Implement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical and social responsibility and address any issues arising.
  10. Work with the IMS team to ensure environmental management systems continue to improve the impact of the organisation on the environment.
  11. Manage relations with all stakeholders including the board of directors, senior management, internal staff, external suppliers, and customers.
  12. Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities, including new starter inductions.
  13. Undertake training as required for specific clients.
  14. Write sustainability reports.
  15. Set company sustainability targets, developing plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery.
  16. Work on monitoring, measuring, and setting goals for the Company’s Net Zero Strategy.
  17. Work with the HR Department and Finance Department to ensure all three pillars of sustainability are maintained.

SKILLS
You will need to:

  • Understand and utilise systems to carry out problem solving.
  • Analyse and interpret data and provide accessible reports.
  • Show initiative, recognise emerging problems, and proactively develop solutions using suitable methods.
  • Work with internal stakeholders (departments, branches, management) to achieve solutions and goals.
  • Work with external stakeholders (customers, suppliers) to achieve mutually acceptable solutions to sustainability issues.
  • Be organised and adaptable.
  • Good verbal and written communication abilities..

Operations Co-Ordinator – Aperture Manchester

Job Ref: BA24-05

Title: Operations Co-Ordinator
Location: Aperture Manchester
Hours: Mon-Fri 8-5 (40 hours)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Organise, control, and manage contracts department.
  2. Submit offers to clients in punctual fashion.
  3. Liaise with Design team where required.
  4. Provide input on orders received.
  5. Assist the GM monitoring the financial and programme performance of all projects.
  6. Programme works to suit BA and Client objectives.
  7. Assist in drafting & issuing risk assessments, method statements, quality plans etc.
  8. Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with Company requirements.
  9. Liaise with GM regarding costs, valuations, and project forecast.
  10. Develop client and supplier relationships to sustain the branch and BA objectives.
  11. To organise and direct all labour.
  12. Authorise timesheets and approve labour invoices.
  13. To coordinate deliveries with Main Contractor’s on-site systems.
  14. To keep paperwork records for Quality Assurance.
  15. To check and record labour outputs against timesheets.

AUTHORITY LIMITS:

  1. Costs to be agreed prior to starting contract.
  2. Approved contractor selection in accordance with our procedures.
  3. Approval only of subcontract labour applications.
  4. Approval of Time Sheets.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE OF POSITION HOLDER

Incumbents need to be articulate, numerate and demonstrate competence in:

  • Adaptability/Business awareness/Detail Handling/Initiative/Planning and Organising/Flat Roofing/Plant safety/Communication
  • General IT awareness

Project Manager – London

Job Ref: BA24-04

Title: Project Manager
Location: London
Hours: 40 (8am to 5pm)
Salary: Competitive Salary + Pension
Black Managers CSCS card SMSTS and must have managerial experience/flat roofing experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To organise and control directly employed and sub-contract labour
  2. To approve time sheets and sub-contract labour invoices.
  3. To programme works to suit agreed programme.
  4. To ensure that materials are ordered and deliveries meet programme requirements
  5. To prepare risk assessments, method statements, quality plans, etc
  6. To ensure that the works are carried out safely and in accordance with Company requirements.
  7. Record variations and advise surveyor
  8. Ensure works are installed as per approved working drawings and specification.
  9. Record compliance with Part L details as applicable.
  10. Liaise with Company employed sub-contractors and ensure work meets our requirements.
  11. Maintain a good working relationship with both operatives and the Main Contractor/Client.
  12. To organise plant, craneage materials, to meet programme and cost plan
  13. Attend site meetings as required.
  14. Attend Company Safety Meetings/Training
