Leading roofing companies support Tower2Tower cyclist

On the 28th July 2012, Mark will be joined by 13 other riders including former footballer Colin Hendry as they set off from beneath Blackpool Tower. Sporting his brand new cycling apparel supplied by BriggsAmasco, Hyflex and Aperture, Mark will ride his way down through England and over the English Channel, before arriving at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Saturday 4th August.

The group will cycle between 70 and 100 miles every day, with the hard and sometimes painful work rewarded with a celebration meal in Paris on the final night. The event will raise much-needed funds for various charities including the Denise Hendry Foundation and main charity Challenge 4 Change.

“I came about working for Challenge 4 Change after a 6 week placement from University in February 2011 – giving me a great insight into the fantastic work they do,” said Mark Knowles. “As soon as I heard about the cycle challenge I was determined to get involved and hoped to raise as much money as I could for the Challenge 4 Change charity.

BriggsAmasco helps build a future for Barnardo’s

At BAM construction sites all over the UK, sub-contractors, suppliers and clients are being invited to buy bricks to help raise £2,500per site. Each of the bricks ‘bought’ by BriggsAmasco will be displayed on a brick wall banner hanging from scaffolding at the front of the £170million regeneration of Kings Cross Central, Eastern Goods Yard.

All money raised by the ‘Buy a Brick’ campaign will support Barnardo’s efforts to get more young people back in to education, employment or training, through local vocational training programmes.

BriggsAmasco supports ‘Roofing Racers’ charity fundraiser

For the fifth year running, BriggsAmasco was a part of a team of ‘Roofing Racers’ to complete the 750m swim in the Thames, 20km cycle and 5km sprint finish. And this year was the most successful yet, with a record number of fundraisers comprising 34 teams of three people (one person for each part of the course), as well as 47 individuals.

“This event is only possible with the sponsorship of a number of companies and organisations, and we are delighted to help in any way we can,” said Dave Maginnis, Managing Director of BriggsAmasco. “We are thrilled to be supporting the event again in 2012, as it continues to provide much-needed funds to extremely worthwhile causes.”

BriggsAmasco will be doing their bit again next year, helping to make the event bigger and better than ever and aiming to raise more than £100,000 in 2012.

BriggsAmasco waterproofing rescues Sea Cadets roof

In 2009, the converted boathouse developed a series of leaks that made the facility unsuitable to be used as a training centre for Merseyside’s 18 sea cadet units. With no funding or the required skills to repair the roof themselves, the Sea Cadets turned to roofing restoration campaign – ‘Fix That Hut’.

Alongside IKO, Chestnut Roofing & Building Supplies and Climax Scaffolding, BriggsAmasco completed the repairs to the highest standard to provide a building that would once again offer dry and warm conditions to train the community’s young cadets.
