BriggsAmasco 150th celebrations reach new heights

On Wednesday 28th October, BriggsAmasco hosted a special gala evening to celebrate the company’s 150th anniversary at the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street in London – one of the capital’s most exclusive venues and home to one of the highest public parks in the world.

Beneath the famous glass dome at this prestigious London address, three storeys of exquisitely landscaped public gardens welcomed people from across the roofing and waterproofing industry. One of the special guests, Andy Williamson from IKO, presented Managing Director Dave Maginnis with a stunning 150th anniversary cake.

“We’re really excited to be celebrating our 150th anniversary,” said Dave Maginnis, Managing Director. “This prestigious and well-attended event provided a perfect opportunity for us to give something back and thank all the members of our team and supply chain that have been so crucial to our long term success.”

“To celebrate our anniversary we have also produced a commemorative coffee-table book. It highlights our growth from a small asphalt manufacturer with just two employees into one of the UK’s leading roofing and waterproofing specialists.”

Recognised throughout the roofing industry for being synonymous with quality, BriggsAmasco remains committed to improvement, innovation and adding value at every opportunity.  With 125 staff members helping to deliver over 1,200 projects each year, BriggsAmasco is looking to stay on top for another 150 years.

BriggsAmasco produces 150th Anniversary Book

BriggsAmasco has designed and produced a commemorative coffee-table book to celebrate its 150th anniversary and highlight the company’s amazing growth from a small asphalt manufacturer with just two employees into one of the UK’s leading roofing and waterproofing specialists.

The 45 page book showcases many of BriggsAmasco’s most prestigious and memorable projects, from the re-surfacing of Forth Road Bridge to the design, supply and installation of approximately 15,000m2 of waterproofing and roofing systems at Birmingham New Street Station.

BriggsAmasco’s many awards and achievements over the years have also been included in the book. These include Roofing Specialist of the Year at the 2015 Construction News Specialists Awards which the company won in its 150th anniversary year and will be looking to retain in 2016.

A name that is recognised throughout the roofing industry as being synonymous with quality, BriggsAmasco remains committed to improvement, innovation and adding value at every opportunity. Now with 125 staff members and over 1,200 projects completed each year, the company is looking to build on 150 years of waterproofing success with 150 more.

BriggsAmasco shortlisted at CN Specialist Awards 2016

In the year that BriggsAmasco celebrates its 150th anniversary, the roofing and waterproofing contractor has been shortlisted at the Construction News Specialist Awards 2016 for the Roofing Specialist of the Year category after winning the award at last year’s event.

An award which recognises the best roofing specialist in the industry, the shortlisting is testament to BriggsAmasco’s commitment to on-going improvement, innovation and investment. Representatives from the company – including Managing Director Dave Maginnis – will be at the Hilton Park Lane in London on 24th February 2016 to find out if BriggsAmasco has successfully defended its prestigious title.

“We are delighted and immensely proud to have been shortlisted at the Construction News Specialist Awards,” said Dave Maginnis. “It is a credit to all the members of our team and their ongoing commitment to quality control, good craft skills and excellent customer satisfaction.”

Based on the company’s achievements over the last twelve months, the award entry highlighted BriggsAmasco’s continued efforts to improve health and safety standards. It also focuses on the £260m Bradford Broadway development by Westfield which turned to BriggsAmasco for the company’s experience, product range and scalability to meet the high standards of design and architecture.

BriggsAmasco shortlisted for Pride of Construction Award

BriggsAmasco has been shortlisted for the prestigious CITB Pride of Construction Award in the category of Outstanding Employer SME.

The winners will be announced at the award ceremony which takes place on Wednesday 25th of November at The Natural History Museum, London.

The awards appreciate the difference made within the construction industry and reflects on the achievements of hardworking individuals and companies.

The nomination in Outstanding Employer SME category recognises the level of commitment BriggsAmasco has with ongoing development, training and high standards as a company.

BriggsAmasco take place in Dragon Boat Challenge

On Thursday 25th June our Managing Director, Dave Maginnis, and Operations Manager, Tony Lawther, took part in The Construction Industry Dragon Boat Challenge in West Reservoir London.

The Dragon Boat Challenge was held to raise money for CRASH, the construction and property industry’s charity for homeless people.

On the day teams of up to 10 people, including a drummer to keep each team in time, paddled a 30’ boat over a 200m race course.
